HIGHLIGHTS The effect of phenotypic distance between parental lines on the yield C. annuum var. × grossum F1 hybrids was assessed. Simultaneously, target research transferring GMS ms10 gene from hot pepper to heat tolerant bell inbreds. Over BP, hybrid MS-12 PAU SM-31 found be superior in respect total fruit plant-1 and pericarp thickness.
